IntelliCentric™ optical systems consist of fixed lens optics combined with a megapixel metrology camera and VIRTUAL ZOOM™ technology, providing remarkable image quality and superb resolution. Unlike digital zoom systems that only allow users to see more, VIRTUAL ZOOM provides improved measurement resolution and performance as you zoom up.
Offering the same magnification ranges as traditional motorized zoom optical systems, IntelliCentric optics are fully telecentric throughout the entire magnification range with no distortion throughout the entire field-of-view. These attributes are inherent to the optical design and result in extremely accurate video measurements at all magnification levels. Magnification changes are instantaneous with no light intensity adjustment needed, resulting in increased throughput. All LED coaxial, substage profile, and SmartRing™ light illumination is included with all IntelliCentric optical systems.
SmartScope E-Series systems come standard with the IntelliCentric-E optical system – featuring no moving parts for the ultimate in reliability. These are equipped with a 6-megapixel color camera providing a high-resolution image engineered for video edge detection metrology.
SmartScope M-Series systems feature the patented* IntelliCentric-M optical system – featuring a 20-megapixel camera with a built-in electronic aperture and VIRTUAL ZOOM. This patented combination provides for double the zoom range compared to IntelliCentric-E optical systems, while maintaining all the same benefits with an ultra-high-definition image.
IntelliCentric optical systems on SmartScope® metrology systems take full advantage of OGP’s industry leading edge detection and autofocus algorithms for advanced video metrology that are available in both Measure-X® and ZONE3® Metrology Software.
